Positive Youth Development Coalition

The Positive Youth Development Coalition's mission is to help the youth in Tillamook to establish alternative methods in order to reduce the use of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol through the support and implementation of prevention and treatment programs throughout the community. Although our focus is on youth, we will not exclude the responsibility to also help adult’s foster healthy choices.

Our goals are to reduce underage alcohol and tobacco use and to educate parents and the community regarding underage drinking, tobacco and drug use.

2008-2009
- The Coalition was formed
- Alcohol & Drug survey distributed thru community
- Alcohol awareness week at East School
- Town Hall meeting
- Coalition supports Till Juv.
- Alcohol & Drug survey results distributed (front page Headlight-Herald newspaper)
- Fair booth

2009-2010
- Girls Circle in North & Central county
- PY/PM at East School
- Every 15 minutes at Tillamook High School
- Participated in prevention of air beer expansion
- East School Carnival "Too Smart to Start"
- Fair booth
- YIA at Tillamook High School

2010-2011
- Community Recovery Meeting
- Girls Circle added in South county
- YIA At Tillamook Jr. High
- Award presentation to local businesses who passed Minor Decoy Operation
- Fair booth
- Red Ribbon Week - proclaimed community event
- Controlled substances disposal
- Unite 4 Life
- Drug & Drunk drive proclaimed
