| Huckleberry Health Fair
Come visit with us at the fair! The Huckleberry Health Fair will be
held Thursday and Friday from 10-3pm at the Tillamook County Fair (this year August
6 &-7, 2009). Every year we have a booth with Alcohol & Drug materials and information, a video playing, and youth handing out stickers and candy. We are spreading the message to all who come to our booth that underage drinking is not only a crime, but is also the number one killer of youth aged 20 and under.

East Elementary School Alcohol Awareness Week
- April 2008
East Elementary School will have a "Dress
Up day", each day of the week. Each teacher will write down how many kids in their classes dress up each day. Every time a student dresses up, they get one point for their class.
The dress up days that are planned are:
-
Tuesday: Use your head, don’t drink alcohol (wear a crazy hat or do your hair crazy)
-
Wednesday: Be a hero, not a zero, don’t drink alcohol (dress like a super hero)
-
Thursday: Lei off of alcohol (wear Hawaiian, tropical, or flower clothes)
-
Friday: Alcohol gives you the blues (wear all blue)
There will be 2 assemblies during the week. During the assemblies, we are going to have relays, we will learn about the dangers of drinking alcohol before we are adults, and we will watch the police do a field sobriety test (like what happens to you if you have drank too much alcohol and are trying to drive a car and the police pull you over).
During “Say No to Alcohol Week”, we are going to have grade competitions. Each competition will have a “Say No to Alcohol Theme”.
There will also be a "Hall
Decorating" contest. The hallway will be divided into 3 sections for each grade to decorate. On Friday, we will judge which hallway is decorated the best. Points will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
 |
There will also have a chalk drawing contest. Each class in each grade will draw or write a say no to alcohol message in chalk on the sidewalks and on the playground of the school.
Points will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
|
On Friday, we will add all of the points up and the grade with the most points will be the winners. The winners will receive a ice cream sundae party donated by the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
Students will be given a bracelet that week that says “Its YOUR choice” on it.
The bracelets will be given out for students to wear all week long as a pledge to not drink alcohol. Together, the students of East
Elementary School will say NO to drinking alcohol—so wear your bracelet, dress up everyday, decorate your hallway, and draw in chalk to help your grade win the most points.
